Mary's Rainbow Baby Journey

Updated: Jul 3, 2022

Mary's session was such a beautiful session. The weather was perfect. Everything was perfect. I chose Indigo for her color. For her maternity session she brought her husband and 8 year old daughter. Such an adorable family and I really enjoyed shooting their session. Here is Mary's story. Her journey.

At a routine prenatal appointment on April 20th 2021 the doctor couldn’t find our sons heartbeat. The little boy we wanted so badly. They sent me to the hospital, thinking he was just positioned in away that they weren’t able to pick his heartbeat up with the doppler. I rushed to the hospital, more scared than I ever had been before. I felt him move that morning. How could something be wrong. I had an ultrasound. The technician made it sound like everything was fine, I thought maybe things were okay after all. I waited for the doctor, and as soon as she came in and looked at me I knew. Our little boy was gone and they didn’t know why. On April 22nd he came into this world via c section. The most beautiful red headed baby boy I could have imagined. Not being able to bring him home is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. Our little Louis Joseph Joshua Hunt. Named after my grandparents who raised me, and his Dad, who I wouldn’t have made it through this without. In December 2021 we found out we were expecting again. And in January we found out we are having another boy. And I believe with all my heart our sweet Louis put this little boy in our lives and is protecting him with all he is. The love I have for my boys and their big sister is bigger than this world. Our rainbow baby has taught me that it’s possible to have a rainbow after a storm, even when it seems like you’ll never be happy again.

Joshua Junior was born on June 7th. During his session he was not a happy camper! What he really needed was a good burping and he was golden. He was great. Mary wanted to surprise Junior's dad by adding his hockey jersey to his session. He played in Bulgaria. So cool! In honor of baby Louis, I wanted to do lots of white as well.
